Weird things Mum and Dad do

I don't know about you, but I've come to the conclusion that my Mum and Dad are quite strange. Let me share some of my observations with you....

  • Dad bought coconut oil spray for cooking but my Mum sprayed some on her hair!
  • Mum often puts leaves, twigs and dried flowers into a little mesh ball and pours hot water over it and then... drinks it! And I get in trouble for bringing leaves and twigs into the house.

  • Mum and Dad just eat their treats and don't bother hiding them around the house.

  • Dad doesn't like sharing his socks with me. I think it's selfish... I only want one and he has two that are the same.

  • Mum will only cuddle me if she's not wearing a black top. If she is wearing a black top I have to wait till she gets changed. I have no idea why...

  • More weird behaviour observed around clothes... Mum will sometimes roll a sticky roller over her clothes to collect my fur. What does she want with my fur?? If she told me what she wanted it for, I'd consider giving it to her.
I wonder if I'll ever work them out... *sigh*

In spite of this odd behaviour, I love them to bits. They can't help being strange.

Next Top Model

I love fashion! I will often take an outfit to Mum so she can help me put it on. I am lucky Mum loves clothes too and more importantly loves finding clothes for me. My little tops and jumpers keep me warm and looking cool at the same time.

My next door neighbour is not only a beautiful friend, she is also a very clever seamstress. She recently redesigned some gorgeous upcycled outfits for me. Here are some snap shots from my portfolio.

I'm baaaack!!!

It has been a long time between blogs. I have been very busy supervising Mum as she started a new job, we took Gemma's Little Gems to the markets, and to top it all off, my laptop blew up. Thankfully, I now have a new laptop and I'm back online.

Mum and Dad have kept their word so far about throwing their passports away. We even went on a family holiday to the country! We stayed at a lovely place called Barrington Riverside Cottages.

Are we there yet....???

There were other dogs on holidays with their families there too. We had so much fun exploring the farm together and sitting round the fire. Mum was quite pleased it wasn't me that tried to steal a block of cheese from the platter!

Abandoned Again...

If you read my blog regularly you may remember that I was abandoned last year when Mum and Dad went to Malaysia. Mum came back and missed me so much she said that she was going to throw her passport away because she was never leaving me again.

Well. Clearly the passport was just hidden and not THROWN AWAY because I was abandoned AGAIN!

I spent the week with my Grandma and had 2 sleepovers with my pal Bailey. I had heaps of fun and was spoilt rotten (as I should be) but that is not the point. Mum and Dad still left me AGAIN.

Sleepover at Bailey's

Mum and Dad are now home with NO treats or toys for me. Apparently they went to some island and there were no toys for dogs. Likely story.

They went to a place called Vanuatu and stayed on a little island called Aniwa.

People there speak a language called Bislama which uses some English words

Mum and Dad stayed with a lovely family and got to experience village life on the island.

Their hut by the ocean

Volcanic stones floating in rock pools. Mum nearly stepped in them!

The family that Mum and Dad stayed with were lovely and looked after them so well. They caught fish and lobster from the ocean each day for their dinner. Breakfast was homemade bread and fresh fruit from the jungle.

They thought of everything to make Mum and Dad comfortable. From organising the only truck on the island to pick them up, the welcome flower and coconut drink on arrival, to all the thoughtful little gestures, Mum and Dad felt like they were at a 5 star resort.

When they weren't pining away for me, Mum and Dad spent their time snorkelling, swimming and fishing. They went for walks in the jungle and learnt heaps about the plants and trees and all their uses. The family also took them to visit the village. They were invited to a John Frum event where members of the John Frum Movement sing and play music from 7pm every Friday until 6am Saturday. Dad tried spear fishing too.

I wish I could have gone to Aniwa. Mum and Dad say it was an experience of a lifetime.

Mum was shown how to weave mats and baskets but I don't think we will be redecorating soon.... Mum should stick to jewellery making!
Mum and Dad were lucky enough to visit a Custom Village and the Chief showed them around. The people there even did a dance for them! Mum was very excited to see that lots of pigs lived there.

The children at the village were so beautiful. They gave Mum and Dad fruit that they picked from the jungle and the Chief showed them a fruit that makes red face paint.

I thought leaving me for a week was a pretty crazy thing to do but that wasn't the craziest thing Mum and Dad did. They climbed up an ACTIVE volcano!!!!!

They sat on the edge of it and watched the hot lava fly up into the sky!!!! The locals told them they had to stand still if any rocks flew their way.... they were supposed to keep their eye on it and just step aside! I'm not sure they would have followed that advice...Mum and Dad would have run faster than me zooming in the park if lava came their way.

After the amazing experience of island life, Mum and Dad spent their last night in Vanuatu at a beautiful resort before coming home to me.

Let's see how long the passports stay hidden for this time...

Pink Ribbon Tea Party

Thank you to everyone who supported our Pink Ribbon Tea Party. It was so much fun and the theme of the day was my favourite colour PINK! Dad said he was glad that he was at work.... don't know why a house full of girls, pink flowers, pink candles and pink cakes wasn't his cup of tea...

We were able to raise some money for breast cancer research and Gemma's Little Gems also donated 15% of all sales too.

It's not too late to donate to a great cause...

My 2nd Christmas

It's been awhile between blogs. Mum has been super busy (or so she says) and I'm not allowed to use the laptop without supervision.

I realise Christmas was a long time ago now but I have to share how wonderful my 2nd Christmas
was.

It all started with the decorations... such beautiful sparkly dangly ornaments, just within reach... and presents!

Why do I have to wait until Christmas Day??

This Christmas was especially exciting as I was part of a Secret Santa group with other anipals from Oz and New Zealand. Each of us got given a pal we had to send a gift to and we promised not to reveal who it was. A big thank you to Jessie who had the big job of organising us all.

My Secret Santa was so kind and generous! I arrived home one day to find this huge, beautifully wrapped box on the doorstep.

So many gifts for me AND Mima!!

THANK YOU SECRET SANTA!!

My pal Bailey came over to visit

Some wonderful presents I got from my pals Stanley & Tilly

I even got more cards than Mum & Dad!

I am a lucky pup.

Testing Mum's Patience

This weekend I learnt that Mum is not a very good student. She has told me repeatedly all weekend that I'm testing her patience. Well, I don't remember even giving her the test, but I'm pretty sure she failed.

Mum and Dad woke up one morning to see lots of white fluff around them. No Australia is not about to experience a white Christmas. Somebody had ripped a hole in the doona and pulled the fluff out! Without even a quick investigation, it was decided that I was the culprit.

Later in the day, somebody went into the study and took a Christmas card. Ok, I admit I took it, but I don't know who ripped it up...

I have no idea who ripped it up...

It must have been the same person who took some paper towel out of the bin and ripped it up, leaving it all over the lounge.

Who looks guilty??
Until I appoint a defence lawyer, I think this might be the best place for me...
