Testing Mum's Patience

This weekend I learnt that Mum is not a very good student. She has told me repeatedly all weekend that I'm testing her patience. Well, I don't remember even giving her the test, but I'm pretty sure she failed.

Mum and Dad woke up one morning to see lots of white fluff around them. No Australia is not about to experience a white Christmas. Somebody had ripped a hole in the doona and pulled the fluff out! Without even a quick investigation, it was decided that I was the culprit.

Later in the day, somebody went into the study and took a Christmas card. Ok, I admit I took it, but I don't know who ripped it up...

I have no idea who ripped it up...

It must have been the same person who took some paper towel out of the bin and ripped it up, leaving it all over the lounge.

Who looks guilty??
Until I appoint a defence lawyer, I think this might be the best place for me...

I have to apologise that it has taken me so long to respond to these kind awards... I blame mum for not letting me use the laptop when she's out.

As part of receiving this award, I have to tell you 7 random facts about me.

7 Random Facts About Gemma...

  • I'm addicted to watching TV. Mum and Dad keep telling me I'm going to get square eyes. Whatever. They say the weirdest things!
  • The skin on my tummy is getting patchier.... something the vet calls pigmentation. I don't know who she's calling a pig!

Hanging out watching TV... check out my spotty tummy!

  • I have a wallaby in my backyard.

  • I believe all paper should be shredded but won't admit to assisting the process.
I don't know who did it....

All Grown Up?

Mum had an "Awwwww" moment the other day when she came across this picture of me.

That picture was taken almost 15 months ago. This is what I look like now.

So much for growing into my ears!

Mum and Dad can't believe how time has flown by and how grown up I am now. Although, I did hear whispered comments I didn't understand "Wonder when she will stop chewing things...?" "Remember when she was so quiet and didn't bark at all?" "What about how she used to never leave our side?

I have no idea who they were talking about but I did get in trouble this morning. I jumped into the bath tub while Mum wasn't looking, grabbed the plug and resized it.

I wonder if they are still considering getting me a fur sis?

Last Straw

If you have read my blog before you will know that I am creative, resourceful and determined. I enjoy redesigning Mum's shoes and finding ways to reach interesting items that have been carefully placed out of my reach.

Mum, however, doesn't always appreciate my talents and will often try to stifle my creativity. One day, after she caught me running past the bathroom with one of her shoes in my mouth, she told me it was the last straw. I don't know what the big deal was, I had shortened one of the bows on the shoe for her, while she was in the shower and was merely putting it back. Apparently the first straw appeared last week when I helped myself to a whole block of cheese left on the table. No one wanted it anyway! And if all these straws were appearing, I'm sure my piggy brother Mima would appreciate them.

Getting back to the shoe, after mum discovered what I did, she shouted at me and my redesigning efforts were rewarded with a smacked bottom.Well I showed her! When Dad got home from work, I was all over him.

Before Mum could tell him what happened that day, I snuggled up to Dad, being as cute as possible and ignored Mum all night. Dad was distracted by the attention, Mum was bothered by the lack of attention, and nobody mentioned any straws!

Working Dog

No I haven't turned into a cattle dog but I am working! Mum & Dad are always leaving me to go to "work" and telling me it's so they can earn money to buy me treats.

Well, I decided to earn my own liver treats! With Mum's help I have now got my own store!

Check it out here   My Store - Gemma's Little Gems

It is still growing and I will be adding lots of pretty things all the time.

You will see that there is a page called Gemma's Giveaways. The first Giveaway will be chosen on Friday 5 October. You just need to tweet a pic of you looking glam for a chance to win something fabulous! I have already received a fantastic entry from @WhippetPickle looking very glam in his pink dressing gown. Will post pics later with his permission.

Looking forward to seeing more pics.

Onwards To Victory

A very exciting thing happened last weekend. My beloved Swannies are through to the Grand Final after a 26 point victory over the Pies!!!!!

The Swannies will meet the Hawks on Saturday in a Grand Final match.

One good thing about Mum and Dad not being able to go to Melbourne for the Grand Final means we will be able to watch it together. For reasons I cannot imagine, even though I have my very own Pet Membership, I'm not allowed to go to any games.

So I will be watching it at home and cheering the boys onwards to victory.

Everybody Needs Good Neighbours...

Our lovely neighbours next door told Mum that they often notice an outline of a little body with a waggly tail looking through the frosted glass part of their front door.

I'm not a sticky beak, I just like going over to say hello. Most of the time Mum just leaves me to it, but one morning she flew into a panic and ran after me.

Apparently before 6am is not a good time for visiting. Mum chased me, calling out my name. She was shouting in whispers if you know what I mean. I was only trying to be polite, but Mum was really embarrassing me, coming out in her pink jammies. This was up there with her "Wallaby Poo Dance".

Those of you who have seen my zooming videos will know how fast I am. I'm also good at dodging Mum. I ran up to their front door and tapped. The neighbours mustn't have heard me so I ran under their bedroom window and woofed a couple of times.

By now, Mum was really cranky. She had stepped on a gumnut and a twig with her bare feet in her haste to stop me. I don't know how this is my fault.... she should have worn shoes!

I was scooped up into Mum's arms and taken home before I could wake the neighbours up. Mum rang them later to apologise but they said they didn't even hear me. They did however hear MUM call out my name!

Mum says I'm lucky that they like me and we're very lucky to have such wonderful neighbours. We really couldn't have asked for better neighbours. They have been so kind and caring ever since we moved in.

One of my neighbours is very artistic and clever. He makes amazing sculptures out of recycled materials.

This is my favourite.
I have also become friends with a dog called Pixie who lives 4 doors away from me. We have been for walks together which has been fun.

Picking Pixie up for our walk.

We'd rather go to Pet Biz next door!

I hope you all have wonderful neighbours too.

Lucky Gemma

It has been awhile since my last post. I have been busy hanging out with my family who are visiting from a faraway place called England. It's so much fun having them stay. I have a baby to play with and am enjoying more pats and fussing.

I'm such a lucky puppy. Not  only do I have a Mum and Dad and family who love me, I have very special pals too. It's obviously not just about all the lovely presents they sent me for my birthday but the friendship and support that I value. I just wanted to thank them all and show you the presents I got.

My best friend Bailey got me this for my birthday

My pal Dugal sent me my very own Bark Jacobs shoe along with other treats

Captain Worm Sparrow sent me a pink hairdryer, a pink bone treat box and Swans stuff for Mum & Dad

Love getting packages in the post! This is from Tilly.

Tilly sent me this amazing box of surprises

This is from Stanley who sent me so many cool toys

This beaver was one of them

Penne sent me this wonderful handmade squeaky fish

Mimi, Mac and Shelly sent me this

This post is dedicated to all my wonderful friends, some that I haven't mentioned but they know who they are. Your love and support means alot to me.

Doggy Big Day Out

My pal Bailey invited me to the Doggy Big Day Out today. It was so much fun! So many stalls, shows and heaps of dogs.

Look greyhounds! Should I go over and say hello?

Hello.

There was an agility demonstration and afterwards I was allowed to have a go!

I didn't really like the tunnels or hurdles but I loved the boards. Except when certain pups hold me up...

Hurry up!

There was a cutest puppy competition that I wanted to enter but I had to be under 1 years old. Can you believe this dog was allowed to enter?

He was apparently 11 months old... but I'm not so sure.... he was 95 kgs!!! And Mum worries about MY weight? Bailey and I should have just entered anyway... it's not like anyone was checking our birth certificates. Although, I'm so cute it would probably have been unfair to the others.

I met a Chihuahua called Taco.

He was cute. But not as cute as Bailey. I even got a goodbye kiss from Bailey today. Some of you will know that Bailey has not exactly been enthusiastic about kisses from me... until now!

My best pal Bailey. Isn't he gorgeous?

I also had my teeth checked by a dental vet and a pet massage. And the best thing about today... well apart from the kiss from Bailey.... look at the freebies and showbags I got.

Mum says she has claimed the piggies... since they actually fold out into bags and aren't toys I guess that's ok.

Time to go home.

Thanks for inviting me Bailey. Looking forward to our next outing.

It's been a Big Day.
